Revolution, New Beginnings, Time, Years

Superheroes—Monitor + Maintain nutrition + mental/physical care/strength in the view of the coming year and all the goals and potential it contains. Explore the idea of revolution. Pursue purposeful curiosity toward wonderstanding by asking thoughtful questions, listening critically, speaking clearly, precisely + confidently. Accept responsibility + respond with dignity + respect. 

 

Anthropology—Study the various cultural revolutions of all shapes and sizes, along with the physical + human features, language, music, art, dance and historical context that make up surrounding culture(s). The history surrounding the hard-won wonderstanding of the Theory of Heliocentricity. New beginnings. Etymology of the "revolution." 

 

Mathematics—Time + Measurement, Data, Geometry & Algebraic Reasoning in relation to revolutions; physical + cultural/calendrical. 

 

Science—Explore electromagnets as revolutionary. Exploring the revolution of our Earth around our Sun relates to our current calendar. Space-Time Continuum. 

 

Reading—Share various informational and narrative texts exploring + involving electromagnets and cultural celebrations around calendars, paying special attention to elements + structure, along with thoughts + motivation of key cultures + players. 

 

Communicating—Investigation + Sharing, grouping and linking ideas into educational presentations as individuals within a group. Researching, reflecting, revising. 

 

Every unit provides plenty of opportunities to share learning with each other individually, in small groups and large groups.

Pursue purposeful curiosity toward wonderstanding by asking thoughtful questions, listening critically, speaking clearly, precisely + confidently. Accept responsibility + respond with dignity + respect. 

 

Anthropology—Study the various revolutions (Bolshevik, Civil War, Gandhi, Syria, Ukraine), along with the physical + human features, language, music, art, dance and historical context that make up surrounding culture(s).

 

Mathematics—Algebraic Reasoning in relation to revolutions; physical + cultural/calendrical. 

 

Science—Explore scientific revolutionaries + their discoveries/accomplishments

 

Reading—Share various informational and narrative texts exploring peaceful revolutions + the cultures surrounding them, paying special attention to elements + structure, along with thoughts + motivation of key cultures + players. 

 

Communicating—Investigation + Sharing, grouping and linking ideas into explorations of ways that we might leverage these ideas today. How might we use this to improve? Compare/contrast revolutions/revolutionaries by choice. Researching, reflecting, revising.
